1. Overview
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the tapioca platform and related services provided by BCP Technology. This policy is designed to protect our users, our infrastructure, and the broader internet community.
By using tapioca, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.
2. Permitted Use
tapioca is designed for legitimate business purposes including:
- Project management and task tracking
- Time tracking and resource allocation
- Team collaboration and communication
- Financial planning and budgeting
- Sprint planning and agile workflows
- Integration with development tools and workflows
You may use tapioca for personal, business, non-profit, or educational purposes in compliance with applicable laws.
3. Prohibited Content
You may not upload, store, or share content that:
- Is illegal: Violates any applicable law, regulation, or legal obligation
- Infringes rights: Infringes intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of third parties
- Is harmful: Contains malware, viruses, or other harmful code
- Is abusive: Harasses, threatens, or promotes violence against individuals or groups
- Is fraudulent: Is deceptive, misleading, or promotes illegal activities
- Is obscene: Contains child sexual abuse material or other illegal obscene content
- Violates privacy: Contains personal data collected without consent
We reserve the right to remove content that violates this policy and report illegal content to appropriate authorities.
4. Prohibited Activities
You may not use tapioca to:
Security Violations
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or other users' accounts
- Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities without authorization
- Circumvent security measures or access controls
- Interfere with service to any user, host, or network
Abuse & Spam
- Send unsolicited bulk messages (spam)
- Use automated means to create accounts or content
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
- Engage in phishing or social engineering attacks
Resource Abuse
- Use excessive bandwidth, storage, or compute resources
- Launch denial-of-service attacks
- Run cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive activities
- Use the platform for activities unrelated to its intended purpose
5. API Usage
When using our API, you must:
- Respect rate limits and implement appropriate backoff strategies
- Authenticate all requests properly and protect your API tokens
- Not attempt to circumvent usage limits or quotas
- Not use the API to scrape data for purposes outside the platform
- Clearly identify your application in User-Agent headers
Rate Limits
Default rate limits are 1000 requests per minute. Enterprise plans may have higher limits. Exceeding limits repeatedly may result in temporary suspension.
6. Third-Party Integrations
When connecting tapioca to third-party services:
- You are responsible for compliance with those services' terms
- Do not use integrations to transfer data in violation of privacy laws
- Ensure you have proper authorization for connected accounts
- Do not use integrations to circumvent restrictions on other platforms
We may disable integrations that violate this policy or cause issues with our partners.
7. Self-Hosted Instances
If you self-host tapioca:
- You are responsible for your users' compliance with applicable laws
- The AGPL-3.0 license terms apply to your use of the software
- You must maintain proper security measures
- BCP Technology is not responsible for your instance's content or users
Enterprise license holders receive additional rights and obligations as specified in their license agreement.
8. Enforcement
When we identify AUP violations, we may take the following actions:
- Warning: For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning
- Content removal: Remove content that violates this policy
- Temporary suspension: Suspend access while investigating
- Permanent termination: Terminate accounts for serious or repeated violations
- Legal action: Report criminal activity and cooperate with law enforcement
We aim to provide notice before taking action, except when immediate action is necessary to protect users or our infrastructure.
9. Reporting Violations
If you become aware of content or activities that violate this AUP, please report them to us:

We will investigate reports promptly and take appropriate action.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this AUP from time to time. When we make significant changes:

- For material changes, we may notify you via email or in-app notification
Your continued use of tapioca after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
